Film Music Contest

Film Music Contest music competition rules

  1. FMC is intended for all music composers from different parts of the world without age or national restrictions.
  2. Natural acoustic instruments, midi sounds or sound library instruments, electronic or natural sounds and sound effects can be used under copyright and regulations.
  3. You can enter/register an original Film, TV composition (with vocal or without) or instrumental composition into the competition.
  4. You can enter any number of compositions into the competition by filling in the online form, paying the registration fee and uploading the composition in the registration form.
  5. An author who wants to register more of their compositions, has to fill out a registration form for each of them and pay a fee for each.
  6. The registration fee for music entry is € 34.
  7. The registration fee is used to cover the costs associated with the song’s registration in the competition, its processing and delivery to the jury panel and it’s non-refundable.
  8. Instrumental compositions will be accepted exclusively in mp3 format with full details of the song and authors in the registration form.
  9. All properly registered compositions meeting the basic competition criteria and rules will be delivered to the FMC jury panel. The jury will be made up of international members and experts from the music industry.
  10. After the registration deadline the jury will select 7 finalists, and then will determine which among them is the absolute winner of the competition grand prize. You can find more information about the prize for the absolute winner here:
  11. The contestant is the sole owner of the song and also owns all copyrights. Signing a song into the competition will in no way affect or alter this fact.
  12. Registration for the current year of the competition is open from 25 October. You can enter your compositions until 10 March 2019.
  13. The registered contestant will receive the most important information and news on the FMC from the competition organiser at their mailing address, which will serve as the main communication channel. In the event of a win or progression to the final round, they will be contacted at this address. Therefore, it is in the contestant’s interest to check and monitor the competition reports.
  14. By signing in the competition, the contestant agrees to respect and follow the competition rules and its revisions and also to respect the competition organisers and accept the results and judgments of the jury, which are firm and binding.

Film Competition Rules

The Film Music Contest (FMC) is announcing a competition for the creators of Feature, Short films, Videos, Ads, TV production with original music. Will be accepted Films, Videos in the most varied genres and themes: animated, cartoon, with actors, foreign-language, musical, documentaries, etc. Besides of the Feature, Short film, video the important part of the evaluation process will be the incorporation of music as well as its continuity with the image.

Basic rules of the film competition

  1. The competition has no age or nationality restrictions – anybody can enter if they comply with the following competition rules.
  2. Any Feature, Short film or Video can be entered into the competition, irrespective of country of origin with no restrictions for year of production, theme, genre, type etc.
  3. An entered short film or video may be a maximum of 45 minutes long, but there are no restrictions for year of production, theme, genre, type etc.
  4. Any number of Feature, Short films, Videos may be entered into the competition.
  5. You may register for the competition on its official website. You must fill in the online form, pay the registration fee of EUR 34, upload a film or video, and provide a private link in the registration form for evaluation purposes.
  6. After successful completion of the registration, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the participant.
  7. Delivery method: 1. The author uploads his/her entry to a video sharing site, preferably Vimeo, YouTube, a storage server or a website from where the file can be downloaded, and must provide a link to it in the registration form.
  8. All properly registered Feature films, short films and videos complying with the basic competition criteria and rules will be delivered to the FMC jury. The jury will be composed of international members and experts in the competition field.
  9. After registration is closed, the jury will select 7 finalist entries
  10. The finalist entries will be presented and screened during the “Gala screening” attended by the international jury, international media representatives and the general public.   11. The jury’s decision is final and binding. By entering the competition, the participants declare that they will respect and comply with this decision.
  12. The organiser reserves the right to use the registered entries for PR activities for the FMC competition.

Graphic Competition Rules

The organisers of the Film Music Contest- FMC announce an accompanying competition for all talented graphic artists and designers.

All potential participants are invited to: Create and design POSTER for FMC gala final evening. The final of FMC-Film Music Contest will take place in a large hall of the historical town hall of Kosice, on 4.4.2019.

Terms and conditions of entering the competition and delivery method:

  1. Any number of POSTERS or graphic design versions can be added to the competition. The author completes the online registration form and pays the participation fee.
  2. Delivery method: 1.The author uploads the finished FMC graphic visual to a storage server or a website from which the file can be downloaded. 2. The author can password protect their graphic package and share it privately for the purposes of the competition and the evaluation process. 3. They enter the prepared and generated link, together with the password to access it to the online registration form.
  3. After submitting the online application and paying the participation fee, the participant will receive a confirmation of the competition registration and of a payment confirmation.
  4. The registration fee for graphic entry is € 34.
  5. The registration fee is used to cover the administrative steps associated with the registration, classification and delivery of competition proposals to members of the jury and it’s non-refundable.
  6. The author of the winning graphic visual agrees that all rights to publish, promote and use of the proposed designs or artwork will belong to the competition organiser, who will use the individual designs for all PR activities related to the international competition. The winner will also provide the organiser with source files for editing, printing and further processing or graphic usage.
  7. All submitted designs contained in the FMC graphic visual  will be reviewed and evaluated by the international jury of experts in the competition field.
  8. The jury will determine the absolute winner who will be awarded the graphic competition’s main prize. More info about grand prize here:
